Eric H. Pearson
Erik Holger Pearson (Hal) was born October 5, 1901 in Ostersund, Sweden. His father Erik Andreas Pearson emigrated to the United States on May 12, 1903 and settled in Longview Washington where he found work in carpentry and logging camps. In 1910 Hal was reunited with his father in Longview. The family lived in logging camps together until 1923 when they bought a home in Seattle. Hal graduated from the University of Washington as a electrical engineer and began taking trips to the nearby Cascades and Olympic mountain ranges.

Hal was an active mountaineer and carried his large format Graflex camera everywhere. This site displays only a portion of photographs taken from a collection containing hundreds.
